If your vehicle fails its emissions test, you’ll receive a Vehicle Inspection Report (VIR) detailing exactly why it failed. You are not able to renew your registration until the issues are repaired and your vehicle passes a re-test.

What Is a 2G Station?
In Nevada, smog stations come in two types. A standard station (1G) can only test vehicles — if you fail, you have to go somewhere else for repairs. A certified 2G station is licensed by the state to both test and repair vehicles, all under one roof.
