Most Clark County registration renewals require an emissions test as the first step. Pull up to the hut here at S Pecos Rd and Sunset, get the test done, and if your vehicle passes, renewal can be processed right after in the same visit. You do not need to make a second trip anywhere else. Your new registration sticker is mailed by the Nevada DMV to the address on file for your registration. Bring your renewal notice, current insurance, and have your vehicle ready for the test.
Test and Renewal in the 7-Eleven Lot
The typical Clark County renewal works like this at Pecos and Sunset. You pull up to the hut in the 7-Eleven lot on S Pecos Rd. The tech runs the emissions test. Your vehicle passes. Renewal is processed on the spot. You leave with confirmation and wait for the sticker in the mail from the Nevada DMV. Roberto’s Taco Shop is right next door if you want to grab a bite while things are wrapping up.
If you qualify for a smog check discount, mention it before the ticket is written. Competitor coupons are matched up to $5 off, and seniors, military members, and first responders get $3 off. Both stack. See the coupon page for details.
How the Renewal Visit Works
Your renewal notice lays out what your registration requires this cycle. Most Clark County registrations require an emissions test. Come in with your notice and insurance ready, and the smog check gets done first.
If your notice never arrived, do not wait until your registration lapses. Pull up anyway. Bring your current registration card or vehicle information and we can look up what is due and proceed from there.
About Your New Registration Sticker
After renewal is processed, the Nevada DMV mails your new registration sticker to the address on file. Timing varies. If your sticker has not arrived after a couple of weeks, contact the Nevada DMV directly to check on status.
