Testing-Only Station for Qualifying Vehicles
The Fort Apache and Twain station is a 1G testing-only location. Qualifying vehicles pass through a standard Nevada emissions test. Diesel testing, smog diagnosis, and smog repair are not offered here.
If your vehicle does not pass, you will receive the test result information so you know what needs attention next. Some Smog Busters locations can help with smog-related diagnosis and repair. Call (702) 436-5346 and we will point you in the right direction.
How the Nevada Smog Check Works Here
Nevada uses an OBD II scan for 2000-and-newer vehicles as part of the standard emissions check. Older vehicles use a tailpipe test. The station is a state-certified test site, so the result is valid for DMV use the moment testing is complete.
When your vehicle passes, the result transmits to the Nevada DMV electronically. There is no certificate to carry or mail. If your registration renewal is also due, the station can process that in the same visit. Your renewal sticker comes by mail from the DMV to the address on your registration. You leave having handled both steps in one stop.
What Vehicles Qualify
Many Clark County vehicles model year 1976 and newer require an emissions test before registration can be renewed. Newer vehicles typically use the OBD II scan, while older vehicles use tailpipe testing. If your registration renewal requires a smog check, plan to get it done at a certified station before your deadline.
This station handles qualifying vehicles only. For diesel pickups and other vehicle types, call (702) 436-5346 before heading out so we can confirm the right station for your situation.
Renewal at the Same Stop
When your smog test passes and your renewal is ready to process, the station handles that paperwork in the same visit. Your registration sticker comes by mail from the Nevada DMV. Bring your renewal notice and current Nevada insurance card to make sure everything can be completed in one stop.
If your renewal notice did not arrive, bring your current registration card or vehicle information. You can still get the emissions test done, and the team can help check whether the renewal can be processed in the same visit.
