Driver’s Licenses And State IDs
Driver’s licenses and state IDs are not handled at any Smog Busters hut. Those are issued directly by the Nevada DMV. Owens & Eastern helps with vehicle-related DMV paperwork only.
What To Bring
Bringing the right paperwork the first time keeps your visit short. The basics for most transactions:
- Your Nevada DMV notice or letter for the transaction (renewal notice, plate notice, and so on)
- Your current Nevada insurance information
- Valid government-issued ID
- Title or ownership documentation (for title transfer or duplicate title)
- The vehicle, if your transaction includes a smog check or if we tell you the vehicle needs to be present
- A valid form of payment for any Nevada DMV fees and Smog Busters service fees
If you’re not sure what your specific transaction needs, call (702) 436-5346 before you drive over. The team can walk through the paperwork with you in a few minutes.
Need A Smog Check Too?
Most Nevada registration renewals require a passing smog check first. The Owens & Eastern hut also handles walk-in smog checks, and the result is sent to the Nevada DMV electronically when your vehicle passes. That means the smog check and the registration renewal can usually be wrapped up in the same visit.
For details on smog checks at this hut, see Smog Check at Owens & Eastern. Cars from 1976 and newer in Clark County are typically required to pass a current smog test before the Nevada DMV will renew the registration.
