Emissions Testing Near
Azure & Tenaya

Your vehicle needs a Nevada emissions test before the state will process your registration renewal. The hut at 7330 W Azure Dr in Tenaya Village handles this test for qualifying gasoline-powered vehicles. Drive up, get tested, get your result, and head back out.

Nevada’s emissions testing program requires most Clark County vehicles to pass a state-certified test annually. When your vehicle passes at this location, the result is submitted electronically to the Nevada DMV in real time. No paperwork to mail in, no separate DMV trip to report the result. Your registration renewal can follow in the same visit.

Nevada Requirements

Why Nevada Emissions Testing Is Required

Nevada’s motor vehicle emission control program requires most vehicles registered in Clark County to pass an annual emissions test before registration renewal is processed. The program is administered by the Nevada DMV and helps ensure vehicles on the road meet air quality standards set by the state.

If your renewal notice says a smog check is required, the Nevada DMV will not process the renewal until a passing test result is on file. Your result is submitted in real time when you pass here at Azure & Tenaya, so there is no additional step between your test and your renewal application.

Newer vehicles may be exempt from testing for the first few model years. Your renewal notice from the Nevada DMV will specify whether a test is required this cycle. If you have questions, call (702) 436-5346.

What this 1G station covers

  • Standard Nevada smog inspection for qualifying gasoline-powered passenger cars and trucks
  • Electronic submission of results to the Nevada DMV on a passing test
  • Follow-up registration renewal processing in the same visit

What is not available at this location

  • Diesel vehicle emissions testing (only at 2711 E Sahara Ave)
  • Smog repair or repair referrals performed on site
  • On-site diagnostic work or check engine light troubleshooting

If your vehicle has a check engine light on, it will not pass the emissions test. A lit check engine light is an automatic failure under Nevada standards. Have the issue diagnosed and repaired at a smog-certified repair shop before scheduling your test. Smog Busters operates certified repair locations at other Las Vegas huts.

What to Bring

Arriving for Your Emissions Test at Azure and Tenaya

Pull into Tenaya Village shopping center off Azure Drive and find the hut next to Service King. You do not need an appointment. Bring your vehicle. If you have your renewal notice, you can bring it, but it is not required. The technician can locate your record by the VIN from your door placard or window plate sticker.

If your registration renewal is also due, you can handle it at the hut right after passing the emissions test. Bring payment for the DMV renewal fee. The new registration sticker will be mailed to the address on your account by the Nevada DMV.

If your address has changed since your last renewal, let the technician know so the update gets into your record before the sticker ships. An outdated address can delay delivery.
