Vehicle Registration Services in Las Vegas
Registration is the most common reason people visit the DMV. At Smog Busters, you get it done without the wait.
- Registration Renewal. Your renewal is processed on the spot through our emissions analyzer, which connects directly to the Nevada DMV system. You walk out legal to drive immediately. Tags are mailed to your address by the DMV. If the mail is a concern, ask about our 48-hour tag retrieval service.
- New Vehicle Registration. Bought a car from a private seller or need to register a vehicle for the first time in Nevada? Bring your signed title, insurance, and ID. Your registration paperwork gets filed through the state on the spot.
- Out-of-State Registration. Moving to Nevada or buying a car from out of state? Bring your out-of-state title, Nevada insurance, and a valid ID. Your paperwork gets processed and submitted to the Nevada DMV the same visit.
- Expired Registration. Driving on expired tags? Get current in one visit. If the vehicle needs a smog check first, that happens on-site, and the renewal gets filed right after.
Title Transfer and Title Replacement Services
Title paperwork can be confusing. Sellers have to sign in the right spot, documents have to be original, and one mistake can mean starting over. Our team reviews everything before we submit, so you know it is right.
- Title Transfer. Buying or selling a vehicle? The title needs to transfer to the new owner. Bring the signed title (no corrections, no white-out), valid ID, and Nevada insurance. The transfer gets filed and the new title comes back to the hut for pickup, typically in 7 to 10 business days.
- Duplicate Title. If your title is damaged or you still have it but it is not usable, a duplicate gets filed through the state. The replacement title comes back to the hut.
- Lost Title Replacement. Lost your title completely? A replacement title application gets filed with the Nevada DMV. You will need a valid ID and the vehicle must be registered in your name.
- Salvage Title Inspection. If you have a salvage-titled vehicle and need a rebuilt title, the vehicle requires an inspection at our corporate location at 2711 E Sahara Ave. The vehicle must be present.
License Plate Services in Nevada
Whether you need to transfer plates between vehicles, replace damaged ones, or order something custom, it all gets filed through the Nevada DMV on your behalf.
- Plate Transfer. Selling one car and buying another? You can transfer your existing Nevada plates to the new vehicle instead of buying new ones. Bring the registration for both vehicles.
- License Plate Replacement. Plates damaged, faded, or unreadable? Replacements get filed through the state. The new plates come back to the hut for pickup.
- Personalized License Plates. Want a custom plate number? Your application gets submitted and the Nevada DMV manufactures and mails your personalized plates directly to you.
- Handicap Placard. Handicap placard applications and renewals are processed at the hut. Bring your completed medical form and valid ID. The placard comes back to the hut.
Permits, Reinstatements, and Other DMV Services
Beyond registration, titles, and plates, several other Nevada DMV services are available at every hut.
- Temporary Moving Permit. Need to legally move an unregistered vehicle? Temporary moving permits are issued same day at the hut. Good for getting a vehicle to a mechanic, inspection, or between locations.
- 48-Hour Tag Retrieval. Worried about your registration tags getting lost in the mail? Your tags get physically picked up from the DMV on your behalf. Almost always next business day.
- DMV Reinstatement. Registration suspended due to an insurance lapse or other hold? Reinstatement paperwork gets filed at the hut to get you back on the road.
- Walk-In DMV Services. Not sure exactly what you need? Just walk in. The team will figure out which paperwork applies to your situation and get it filed.
- VIN Inspection. Some transactions require a physical VIN verification. VIN inspections are available at our corporate location at 2711 E Sahara Ave. The vehicle must be present.
