What to Expect on Your First Visit
Did you move to Nevada with a car from another state? Bring it to the Decatur & Cactus hut. Many gas cars need a Nevada smog check. Some cars do not. Our team can check your car.
Bring the items that fit your case:
- Your car for the smog check.
- Your title or current registration.
- A valid photo ID.
- Active Nevada car insurance.
- Your current odometer reading.
- Your out-of-state plates.
- Title or lienholder papers for a financed car.
The owner’s name must match the insurance. When the car passes, keep the passing smog certificate. A VIN check may also be needed. We handle it only as part of the full registration transaction.
Eligible customers can finish the registration at the hut. You do not need a separate trip to a DMV office. Walk-ins are welcome.
This hut tests qualifying gas cars. It does not test diesel cars. It also does not offer repairs or car checks.
Getting to Smog Busters Decatur & Cactus from Fire Station Dog Park
Fire Station Dog Park is at 3776 Odessa Falls Avenue. Out-of-state registration help is a quick trip away at Decatur & Cactus.
From the park, head toward South Valley View Boulevard. Turn right. Then turn left on West Cactus Avenue. Go west toward Decatur Boulevard. Follow the map to the hut entrance.
- Leave the park and head toward South Valley View Boulevard.
- Turn right on South Valley View Boulevard.
- Turn left on West Cactus Avenue.
- Go west toward Decatur Boulevard.
- Follow the map to the hut.
The hut is easy to see from the street. Parking is right by the door. Many dog owners pair the park trip with this errand.

The dog park is part of many local routines. The Decatur & Cactus hut can fit into the same trip.
