Plan Both Stops
Post Office First, Smog Check Second
The Emerald Post Office at 4030 S Jones Blvd keeps its counter open until 5 p.m. on weekdays and 3 p.m. on Saturdays. The Rainbow & Flamingo hut stays open an hour later on both days, so you can mail the package first and still make the smog check.
The drive over is a short one, past the softball fields at West Flamingo Park. It's the kind of trip most people around here make by car. In the census tract around the post office, about three of every four workers drive to work alone.
Directions to the Hut
From Emerald Post Office to Rainbow & Flamingo
From the post office, head south on Jones Boulevard and turn right on Flamingo Road. Follow Flamingo west to Rainbow Boulevard and turn left. Spring Valley Town Center is just past the intersection on your left, and your way in is the left turn just past The Kickin' Crab.

Once you're in the lot, you'll see the hut adjacent to Bank of America. If you'd like the route on your phone, here are directions from Emerald Post Office to Smog Busters. For a map app, the address is 4252 S Rainbow Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89103.
Before You Drive Over
Which Vehicles the Rainbow & Flamingo Hut Can Test
If you drive a gasoline car or a gas-electric hybrid, Rainbow & Flamingo can test it. The hut doesn't test diesels, and because it's a testing-only location, it doesn't do repairs either. If you're not sure about your vehicle, give the hut a call at (702) 221-6447 before you head over.
Smog Check and Renewal
Smog Check and Registration Renewal in One Stop
There's no appointment to book. Pull up to the hut and a technician will greet you, and most smog checks take 15 minutes or less once they start.
If your registration is due, you can take care of that here too. The smog check comes first, and if your vehicle passes, the hut sends the result to the Nevada DMV electronically and renews your registration on the spot. You don't need the renewal notice that came in the mail, since the technician can look up your vehicle by its VIN. Your new sticker comes later by mail, sent by the Nevada DMV to the address it has on file.
