• The new owner still needs to complete registration.

10-day permit

• The vehicle is already registered to the person asking for the permit.
• The registration is active or expired for less than 18 months.
• The person asking for the permit is the registered owner.

Nevada may issue more than one moving permit, but you should not assume another one will be available. The DMV's current rules limit a vehicle to 90 total permit days, and that total includes every type of permit.

NRS 482.396 allows more than one permit for the same vehicle and person. It also caps each permit under that law at 60 days. The statute does not name today's 10-day and 30-day permits, and it does not state the current 90-day total.

Use the permit time to finish the work needed for registration. A moving permit does not pause smog, title, insurance, or registration requirements.
