The hut at 2330 S Nellis Blvd sits in the Carl’s Jr. parking lot with The Great Greek Restaurant and Jaybird’s Nashville Hot Chicken directly in front of it, making it easy to spot from Nellis whether you are coming from Orchards to the north or Winterwood Ranch to the east. The tech hooks into your vehicle’s OBD port, runs the standard Nevada test, and when your car passes, the result goes to the Nevada DMV electronically. You do not have to send paperwork or make another stop. If your registration is also due, that can be processed right here before you leave the lot.
What Happens During a Nevada Emissions Test at This Hut
When you pull up to the hut on Nellis Blvd, the tech connects to your vehicle’s onboard diagnostic port to read the vehicle’s own emissions monitors. The system checks whether all relevant readiness monitors have run and whether any fault codes are present that would indicate an air quality failure.
For most gasoline vehicles made in the last two decades, the whole process runs in well under 15 minutes. When your vehicle passes, the result is transmitted directly to the Nevada DMV. You do not need to carry a paper certificate anywhere or make a separate stop to submit the result.
1G Station: What That Means for You
This hut is a 1G station. Standard Nevada emissions testing for qualifying gasoline vehicles is what happens here. No diesel testing is performed at this location. Smog repair and diagnostics are also not available. If your vehicle is diesel, call (702) 436-5346 before driving out and we will point you to the right Smog Busters location. If your vehicle fails the test and needs repair work, call and we will find you the nearest repair-capable location.
