Nevada Emissions Testing at the Rainbow Blvd Station

Standard Nevada emissions testing is available here for qualifying vehicles. This is a 1G testing-only station, which means the focus is entirely on the state-required emissions test. Diesel testing, smog diagnosis, and smog repair are not part of what this station does.

When your vehicle passes, your result is submitted electronically to the Nevada DMV right then. There is no paper certificate to keep or mail. If your registration renewal is due at the same time, you can take care of it before leaving. Bring your renewal notice and current Nevada insurance card so nothing holds up the process.

No appointment needed. Walk in during business hours Monday through Friday 8am to 6pm or Saturday 8am to 4pm. Most tests are done in under 15 minutes.

Which Vehicles Require Emissions Testing in Clark County

Many Clark County vehicles model year 1976 and newer require a passing emissions test before registration can be renewed. The specific requirement depends on the vehicle year and type. If your renewal notice indicates a smog check is required, plan to get it done at a certified station before your deadline.

OBD II Testing

Vehicles model year 2000 and newer typically go through an OBD II scan, which reads diagnostic data directly from the vehicle’s onboard system. This method is fast and covers a wide range of qualifying vehicles.

Tailpipe Testing

Older qualifying vehicles that predate the OBD II standard use the tailpipe test method instead. This measures actual exhaust emissions. Both methods are available at this station.

If you are not sure which test applies to your vehicle, call (702) 436-5346 and we can help you confirm before you head over.

If Your Vehicle Does Not Pass

You will receive the test result information so you know what needs attention next. Because this is a testing-only station, diagnosis and repair are not available here. Some Smog Busters locations can help with smog-related diagnosis and repair. Call (702) 436-5346 before your next trip and we will direct you to the right station for your situation.
