Registration Renewal
Tropicana & Morris

Your registration is coming due and the Nevada DMV needs a current smog check before it will process the renewal. Both can be handled in one stop right here on E Tropicana Ave. Pull up, get tested, and take care of the paperwork before you leave.

The hut at 5215 E Tropicana Ave is in the lot across from the Whitney Library, next to the liquor store and Butch Cassidy’s. The emissions test runs first. If your vehicle passes, the result goes directly to the Nevada DMV electronically and the renewal follows right there. Your new sticker is mailed by the Nevada DMV to the address they have on file for you. Whether you are coming from Stallion Mountain, Palm Gardens, Whitney, or Solera on the east side, this stop is already in your neighborhood. No appointment needed.

How It Works

Smog Test First, Renewal Right After in the Same Lot

Clark County requires most vehicles to have a current passing emissions test before the Nevada DMV will process a registration renewal. At this hut on Tropicana, the smog check and the renewal paperwork happen back to back. You do not need two separate stops.

When you pull in, you get the required Nevada emissions test for your vehicle. Most tests finish in under 15 minutes. If your vehicle passes, the result is submitted electronically to the Nevada DMV without you needing to do anything extra. Renewal paperwork follows right there at the hut. Your new registration sticker is then mailed by the Nevada DMV to the address on file for your vehicle.

If your address has changed since your last registration, flag it during the visit. The Nevada DMV needs to have your current address before the sticker ships.

What to Bring

Your renewal notice makes the process fastest because it already has the fees listed. If you do not have it, bring your registration card or just your plate number. Current insurance and a payment method are also needed. The renewal notice usually has all the fee information up front.

No Renewal Notice?

If your renewal notice did not arrive, bring your current registration card or vehicle information. You can still get the emissions test done, and we can help check whether the renewal can be processed in the same visit.

Registration Overdue?

Late registrations can still be handled here in most cases. Pull the vehicle in, the smog check runs, and renewal follows. Late fees may have accrued depending on how long the registration lapsed. For reinstatements after a suspension rather than a simple overdue renewal, call (702) 436-5346 before driving out.
