Title Transfer
Tropicana & Morris
You just bought or sold a vehicle and need to transfer the Nevada title. You do not need to go to a state DMV office for a standard transaction. Bring the signed title and your ID, and it can be handled right here on E Tropicana.
The hut at 5215 E Tropicana Ave handles standard private party and dealer purchase title transfers for Nevada vehicles. For a basic Nevada title transfer, insurance is not required just to transfer ownership. If you also need to register the vehicle, a smog check and insurance may come into play. If you are in Stallion Mountain, Palm Gardens, Whitney, or Solera and just made a vehicle purchase, this is the nearest stop on the east side. Walk in during business hours. For complicated situations, a quick call first saves the trip.
Nevada Title Transfers at the E Tropicana Hut
Standard private party purchases and dealer purchase title transfers are handled at this location. You do not need to go to a Nevada DMV office for a clean title transfer on a standard vehicle. Bring what is listed, and it can be processed here during business hours without an appointment.
Insurance and the Title Transfer Question
For a basic Nevada title transfer, insurance is not required just to transfer ownership. If you also need to register the vehicle, a smog check and insurance may come into play. If you are only transferring the title today and not registering the vehicle at the same time, insurance is not part of the transaction.
What to Bring for a Standard Transfer
- Signed title from the seller (both buyer and seller signatures where required by Nevada)
- Government-issued photo ID
- Any lien release documentation if there was a lienholder on the title
- Payment for applicable Nevada title transfer fees
Situations That Need a Call First
Walk in for clean standard title transfers. Call (702) 436-5346 first if your situation involves any of the following.
- Salvage or rebuilt title designation
- Open lien that has not been fully released
- Court-ordered transfer or ownership dispute
- Out-of-state title with complications
- Unclear ownership or missing seller signature
- Incomplete paperwork
Transfer the Title and Register in One Stop
If you need to both transfer the title and register the vehicle at the same time, you can handle both in one visit at this hut. Registration typically requires a current smog check for most Clark County vehicles. Bring your new insurance as well, since registration will require it.
The smog check can be completed here first. Once the vehicle passes, the registration paperwork follows. Your new sticker is mailed by the Nevada DMV. See the registration renewal page for Tropicana & Morris for the full checklist on that process.
