Title Transfer
Nellis & Sahara
You just bought a car from a private seller and need to get the title into your name. Or you purchased from a dealer and need the paperwork filed with the Nevada DMV. You do not have to sit in a DMV lobby for it. Standard title transfer paperwork can be handled right here on Nellis Blvd.
The hut at 2330 S Nellis Blvd handles standard Nevada title transfer paperwork for private party purchases, standard dealer purchases, and similar clean title situations. Bring the signed title, your ID, and applicable fees. Keep in mind that insurance is not required just to transfer ownership. It only comes into play if you are also registering the vehicle in the same visit. The hut is in the Carl’s Jr. parking lot, directly in front of The Great Greek Restaurant and Jaybird’s Nashville Hot Chicken. Walk-ins welcome for clean title situations. Complex cases require a call first.
Bought a Car? Get the Title in Your Name Without the DMV Office Line
Most standard Nevada title transfer paperwork does not require you to set foot in a DMV office. You bought the vehicle, the seller signed the title over to you, and now you need the Nevada DMV to record the change. Bring that signed title, your ID, and the applicable fees to the hut at 2330 S Nellis Blvd and the paperwork gets filed.
What a Clean Title Transfer Looks Like
A clean transfer means a private party sale where the seller is listed on the title, the title is signed over to you in the correct fields, there are no outstanding liens on the vehicle, and it does not involve a salvage or rebuilt title inspection. Standard dealer purchase paperwork falls into the same category in most situations. Bring everything and walk in during business hours.
When to Call First
Some situations are not straightforward and a call ahead saves a wasted trip. Call (702) 436-5346 before coming in if any of these apply:
- The title involves a salvage or rebuilt title inspection, which is handled only at E Sahara & Atlantic/corporate
- There is still a lien on the vehicle from a previous owner’s financing
- The transfer was ordered by a court or involves a legal dispute
- The title is from another state and has complications
- Ownership is unclear, contested, or the seller’s name does not match the title
- Documents are missing or incomplete
Transfer and Register in One Stop
If you want to put the vehicle in your name and register it with the Nevada DMV in the same visit, that can happen here. If the vehicle also needs a smog check to qualify for registration, that step happens first. The full sequence of smog check, title transfer, and registration can all be completed before you leave the lot in most standard cases.
