How Long Does It Actually Take?
Registration renewals — your registration is active immediately. We process it on-site through a direct connection to the Nevada DMV system. The only thing arriving by mail is your physical sticker, which the Nevada DMV sends to your address on file in 5 to 7 business days.
New registrations, title transfers, and out-of-state registrations — on-site paperwork takes about 20 minutes. We then submit everything to the Nevada DMV on your behalf. Standard turnaround is 7 to 10 business days. Completed documents and plates are returned to the Smog Busters location where you completed your service — you pick them up there. You do not need to visit the DMV.

What Happens On-Site vs. What Goes to the DMV

- Handled on-site at Smog Busters: vehicle lookup by VIN, document review, completion of all Nevada DMV paperwork, smog check if required, payment collection, submission of completed paperwork to the Nevada DMV.
- What goes to the DMV on your behalf: new registrations, title work, and out-of-state transfers require us to physically submit paperwork to Nevada DMV. We make that trip for you.
- What the DMV mails directly to you: standard registration stickers for renewals, and personalized plates. Everything else comes back to the hut for pickup.
